Forget the Tour de France, Murdock's Derry branch is the place to be over the next week as they take on a cycling challenge to raise money for a local charity.
Staff and customers in in Derry will aim to cover 357 miles on a stationary bike on the shop floor with participants donating £1 per mile in aid of Foyle Hospice Day Care Centre. The 357 miles represents the distance from Mizen Head to Mailin Head - the most Northern and Southern points of the island of Ireland - a popular fundraising cycle venture undertaken by many people for charity.
Foyle Hospice Day Therapy Unit provides an informal environment for patients who live at home but who can benefit from the support of our experienced palliative care nursing team in the hospice.
This is a relaxed and safe environment for up to 12 patients a day, the Day Hospice is active each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the year. In most instances, a patient will visit the Day Hospice one day a week.
If you are in the area why not call in and take part in our cycling challenge if you are up to it! More pictures and videos will be posted over the week on our website and social media pages.
Good luck to all in Derry!!
